European machine builders looking for a range of high performance ISO
21287 compliant compact actuators need look no further thanks to the
latest development from world leaders, SMC Pneumatics, with the launch
of their new generation – Series C55, double acting, single rod, air
operated cylinders.
Designed to meet a broad range of automation machine applications,
Series C55 achieves outstanding load performance thanks to its unique
rubber bumpers, piston wear ring and rod bushing which are used
throughout the complete range. Therefore, European machine builders
looking for an ISO compact cylinder with stroke lengths of up to150mm
including the benefits of standardised mounting dimensions, now have
the perfect solution.
Available in standard bore sizes of: 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 63, 80 y
100mm, with piston speeds of between 50 – 500mm/sec, these cylinders
are designed to operate using relatively low air pressure of between
0.05 – 1.0 MPa and at ambient and fluid temperatures of between minus
10ºC to plus 70ºC.
With standardised mounting options conforming both ISO 21287 and 6431,
this new cylinder range effectively complete SMC´s comprehensive line
up of ISO/VDMA compliant cylinders.

Compact cylinder series CLQ, although equipped with locking function,
is designed to minimize the overall length. Overall length of the model
is achieved to be the same as that of the CQ2 compact cylinder. CLQ is
available in 5 bore sizes ranging from 40 to 100mm and is auto switch
capable.

Series CQ2 compact cylinders provide a space- saving design and exceptional service life. They feature front snap ring design for easy access to internal parts. Available in single and double rod models, male and female thread design, double acting, spring return and spring extend. Choose from 13 bore sizes up to 200mm. Optional reed/solid state switches may be used. The aluminum extruded bodies, featuring through-hole and threaded body mounting, provide versatility and reliability in any design application.

The CQM is a compact cylinder integrated with a guide rod and plate.
The series is available in 12, 16, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 63, 80 and 100mm
bore sizes with the same mounting dimensions as the CQ2. The guide rod
and plate allow work to be directly mounted. The CQM series offers 4
times the lateral load resistance of the CQ2K and non-rotating accuracy
of ±0.2°.

The CQS compact cylinder is available for those small bore cylinder
applications where saving space is a concern. While sharing many of the
outstanding features of the CQ2 series, the CQS offers standard long
strokes (up to 300mm) in four bore sizes from 12 to 25mm. Long stroke
versions incorporate a wear band and thicker piston to handle the
increased bearing needs of the longer strokes. Both switch capable and
non-switch capable body styles are the same, and switches can be
mounted on three (12-16 bore) and four (20-25 bore) sides. An increased
side load version (CQS*S) is available for more demanding applications.

Machine builders who traditionally use a cylinder and solenoid valve
for pushing and clamping applications now have a space and time saving
solution with the launch of SMC´s new Series CVQ cylinder and valve
range.
Developed initially to provide a unique all-in-one compact
cylinder/valve system, engineers from world leaders SMC have simply
taken their most popular compact CQ2 cylinder and V100 solenoid valve
and literally built them together in one single unit. By adopting this
innovative approach, the new CVQ cylinder range offers some major space
savings as there is no need to allocate space for either the valve or
the necessary piping. And by eliminating the piping, further
performance benefits are also achieved such as reduced pressure drop
and air consumption - by up to 37% per cycle - plus improved response
speed when compared to previous separate cylinder and valve
configurations. As a single one piece unit, the new CVQ only requires
only three piping connections instead of seven connections as
previously required thereby ensuring reduced labour time for both
installation and maintenance.
Currently the CVQ Series combines a double acting compact cylinder in
either 32mm, 40mm, 50mm or 63mm bore sizes for application requiring
cylinder speed of between 50 – 500 mm/s and a 2 position solenoid
valve, which is IP 40 dust proof and is available in low power
consumption 24 or 12 V options.

SMC's hygienic design cylinders, series HY, offer
significantly improved water resistance by adopting
a new lubricating construction. The cylinder's flat
configuration (grooves for auto switches and holes
for cushion needles, etc. have been eliminated) allow
the surface to be wiped off easily.

The MQQ cylinder is a compact, low friction cylinder designed for low
pressure, low speed, uniform speed or low friction applications. MQQ is
available as standard or a lateral load resisting type (with built-in
ball bushings). Bore sizes range from 10mm to 40mm and strokes are
available up to 100mm.

Following automobile industry requests for a lightweight small cylinder
with a simple lock function. SMC Pneumatics, the world leading
automation control experts, are pleased to announce the launch of their
latest range of compact cylinders with both lock and air cushion
series RLQ. Developed to provide the safety of drop prevention, at any
point of the stroke, should the air supply be cut off, series RLQ
benefits from additional features such as its own built in air cushion,
standardized bypass piping and home position holding function. Also
with the air cushion and lock unit contained inside the cylinder, the
RLQ series offers similar space saving dimensions to SMC's existing
compact CQ2 range. The new series RLQ is the perfect solution for
applications which require larger kinetic energy, high stroke
repeatability and decreased sound levels.Series RLQ, is currently
available in bore sizes of 32, 40, 50 and 63mm, with standard stroke
options of between 20 - 100mm, series

The RQ series' new air cushion construction allows this series to
retain the merits of a compact cylinder. The unique air cushion
construction eliminates the cushion ring used in conventional type air
cushions, which reduces the overall length of the cylinder. The RQ
series meets the demands for reduced shock, noise reduction and
improved repeatability at the stroke end.
