The CL1 series lock-up cylinder is a self-locking style that contains a
ring that is tilted by a spring force, which is further tilted by the
load that is applied to the cylinder, thus locking the piston rod. This
cylinder is suitable for intermediate stops, emergency stops, or for
drop prevention.

The CLA cylinder is a fine lock cylinder with external tie rods. Effectivley it is very similar to the CA1/CA2 cylinder ranges with the addition of a lock.
The operation of the lock is available in 3 different types:
- Spring Lock(Exhaust Lock)
- Pneumatic Lock(Pressurized Lock)
- Spring and Pneumatic Lock

The series CLG1 is provided with a compact locking mechanism that locks
in both directions. The piston rod can be locked in either direction of
its cylinder stroke. It is suitable for intermediate stops, for
emergency stops, and for drop prevention. The CLG1 fine lock cylinder
is part of SMC's CG1 cylinder series.

The CLJ2 offers a brake mechanism to stop the position rod at any
position while retracting or extending. Choose from three different
brake mechanisms to select the unit best suited for your application.
Compact and lightweight, the CLJ2 is part of SMC's CJ2 product line.

If youre looking for a compact Clamp Cylinder with lock then simply
look no further than our newly improved Series CLK2 range. Fully
interchangeable with our existing CLK1 products, these clamp cylinders
have 2mm shorter cylinder lengths and improved cover configuration.
Available with NPT Thread options as standard, these cylinders can be
connected from 3 different piping port positions. With their improved
lock opening performance, which enables easier assembly and
maintenance, our CLK2 Series are the perfect choice for holding
applications in either a clamped or unclamped state.

Following the success of our popular CKQ Pin Clamp Cylinders for
automatic welding line applications, we are pleased announce the launch
of our newly extended, improved and updated CKQG/P Pin Clamp model
ranges. Now, thanks to the development of this new series, we have
increased the number of guide pin type options to 55 versions making
them even more compatible for a broad range of workpiece
configurations. Further features of this new series include reduce body
interference, thanks to the introduction of 4 shim options making
height adjustment possible, more accurate workpiece clamping, reduced
damping surface area and the fact that both positioning and damping can
be performed at the same time.

The series CLM2 offers a brake mechanism to stop the piston rod at any
position while retracting or extending. With three different brake
mechanisms and four bore sizes available, SMC gives you the choice of
the best unit for your application. The compact and lightweight CLM2 is
a part of the CM2 product line.

Compact cylinder series CLQ, although equipped with locking function,
is designed to minimize the overall length. Overall length of the model
is achieved to be the same as that of the CQ2 compact cylinder. CLQ is
available in 5 bore sizes ranging from 40 to 100mm and is auto switch
capable.

The CLS series cylinder with lock is ideal for applications requiring
intermediate and emergency stop and drop prevention. The compact lock
unit is lightweight and saves space. A switch is optional on the brake
cylinder so the operating state of the lock unit (brake piston) can be
detected using the switch signal. By separating the lock mechanism and
the brake cylinder, SMC has minimized the influences of unlocking air
quality such as moisture and condensation.

The CNA2 series cylinder with lock is suitable for mid-stroke stops,
emergency stops, and drop prevention. An equal holding force in
extending and retracting directions make it possible to lock at either
end of the stroke. High reliability and stable holding force are
maintained by using a substantially lenghthened brake shoe with
superior wear resistance. The locking mechanism is isolated from lock
release air, so lock function is not diminished by excessive dirt or
drain in compressed air.

Greater locking efficiency as well as stable locking and unlocking
operation has been achieved with the CNG cylinder series by arranging a
large number of steel ball bearings in circular rows. The floating
taper ring provides alignment and stable locking force with respect to
piston rod eccentricity. Unlocking pressure of 0.25MPa (0.05MPa lower
than conventional SMC product).

The CNS series cylinder with lock is ideal for applications requiring
intermediate and emergency stop and drop prevention. The compact lock
unit saves space and the enclosed construction and separation of the
lock mechanism and the unlocking piston chamber minimizes the
influences of poor air quality.

The MB series medium duty tie rod cylinder offers an improved design
that enhances cylinder operation and ease of use. The standard air
cushion utilizes a floating cushion seal to eliminate piston rod
bouncing. The cushion volume has been elevated permitting about 30%
more allowable kinetic energy absorption. The port and captive cushion
adjustment valve are located on the same side of cap for heightened
access. The MB series is available with many standard options, which
include stroke adjustment, tandem, high/low temperature seals, heavy
rod scraper, non-rotating rod, double rod and many more.
