Intelligent Suction Valves

SMC has released a range of  “ Intelligent suction check valves”.

 

The ZP2V valve units are used where multiple cups are run off a single vacuum source, they are used to help prevent excessive vacuum leakage though the cups that do not correctly seat on a work piece.

 

This unit is fitted between the vacuum generator and the suction cup.  When the suction cup seals against the work piece, the check mechanism opens, and full vacuum is applied to the cup.

 

If there is no work piece present or the work piece is dislodged/removed during operation the ZP2V valve will close/stay closed, to help prevent large vacuum leakage allowing the rest of the vacuum cups to operate with minimal vacuum loss.   

 

The design of the product means that they can still be used where vacuum blow off is needed to release the work piece.
